About me
From video games to Cloud architecture.
It all started with a race to the computer lab.
I'm Gilberto Pineda. As a kid, I used to run down the school hallways to be the first to get a computer. That same energy is what drives me today.
My professional career was born from my hobby: video games. I started configuring servers to play with my friends and quickly learned a valuable lesson: if you don't secure the server, the game is over ☠️. That curiosity led me to dive deep into the Cloud and Cybersecurity at university, and it became my profession.
What do I do today?
I design secure, hybrid architectures (AWS/Azure) that hold up in the real world. My approach goes beyond just "making it work"; I look for efficiency and apply security from the ground up, just like I did with my first servers. I also lead the DOJO DevOps Panama community, because I firmly believe that knowledge grows when it's shared.
Away from the keyboard
When I need to recharge, I swap the screen for hiking or a trip somewhere new.
